Yael is best known for playing Lorna Morello for 7 seasons on Orange Is the New Black and has spent most of her life working in theatre, film and TV. During Black Summer Fires Yael announced that she would be abandoning her Green Card, returning home to Australia as a symbol of her commitment to reducing CO2 emissions. During her 7 years in New York City Yael worked with Liberation Prison Yoga teaching meditation and yoga to women on Rikers Island and served as a board member. She was also a member of the Resistance Revival Chorus, an arts protest group led by Women’s March organisers. She is a proud ambassador for AIME and student of Imagination University. Yael is also studying a bachelor of Sustainable Communities at the University of Wollongong. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Hey Neighbour, a community organisation committed to a renewables energy transformation that includes everyone. Yael has written for The Guardian, The Sydney Morning Herald, Elle magazine and Junkee. Upcoming acting project’s include Liam Neason’s Blacklight, Del Katherine Barton’s Blaze and Warick Thornton and Brendan Fletcher’s Firebite.
