Emma is from regional NSW. She is an educator, an artist, community leader and mother, and also president of Manilla Community Renewable Energy Inc. (MCRE). This not-for-profit community group has been working since 2013 to accelerate the transition to renewable energy in the face of fossil fuel expansion in our agricultural region. The group partnered with a commercial renewable energy developer Providence Asset Group and in 2019 were successful in receiving $3.5M from NSW State Govt Regional Community Energy Fund towards an energy storage system for the Manilla Solar Project, a 4.9mW solar farm in Manilla NSW.
