Stephen Sproul is a Chartered Engineer with over 10 years’ experience across the power industry in Australia and other leading renewable energy markets such as California, the UK and Italy. Stephen is currently Head of Technical Sales – Microgrids & Energy Storage with Hitachi Energy. Stephen’s work includes the ESCRI/Dalrymple BESS – the first registered Grid Forming BESS on the NEM, Rio Tinto’s 45MW Tom Price BESS – one of the largest systems in the world to be connected to an isolated power system and the Kalbarri Microgrid – a fringe of grid microgrid that islands the township. His focus is Grid Forming energy storage, microgrid automation and other technical enablers to operating 100% renewable energy power systems.
