Extreme heat is Australia’s deadliest environmental disaster, causing more fatalities than storms, fires, and floods combined. This session will explore the urgent need for better urban planning, transport solutions, and policy action to ensure communities can survive and thrive under rising temperatures. It will be delivered by Sweltering Cities, a national health charity working at the grassroots level to advocate for cooler, safer, and more equitable suburbs and homes.
