James Stanton-Cooke (aka Jimmy HalfCut) is a positive disrupter with a mission: to #HealTheDaintree and support major rainforest rewilding efforts & protection. For over 20 years, he’s led grassroots and national movements to protect biodiversity, defend forests, and act on climate—fighting for safer, healthier ecosystems for wildlife, people, and our planet.
Jimmy has proudly been HalfCut (with half a beard) for seven years, symbolising the brutal reality of the vast deforestation we’ve already seen across the world, 50% gone —and the devastating loss of nearly or more off 50% of Australian forests. It’s a daily visual protest—there’s no switch-off button when you wear the issue on your face.
He’s an expert in sparking action on the climate emergency, First Nations justice, and environmental protection. Whether it’s deforestation, coal and gas expansion, consumerism, coral bleaching, threatened species, carbon credits, or food waste—Jimmy lives and breathes it.
