
Chris Dunstan
Dr Chris Dunstan is Energy Strategy Leader within the Energy Systems Program at CSIRO.
Chris has more than 30 years’ experience in clean energy and climate, strategic management and sustainability.
Chris led the project to create Australia’s first Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and first Vehicle to Grid (V2G) car at the University of Technology Sydney in 2007 and 2008.
Chris has facilitated major policy and program initiatives in energy and sustainability, including the NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme (the world’s first carbon emissions trading scheme), the NSW Energy Savings Scheme, the multi-billion dollar NSW Climate Change Fund and the AER’s $1 billion Demand Management Incentive Scheme for electricity distribution networks.
Chris has conceived and led many key research initiatives, including the Australian Decentralised Energy Roadmap, the national Network Opportunity Maps, the Electric Driveway and the $350 million RACE for 2030 Cooperative Research Centre.
Chris has provided strategic advice on price reform, energy efficiency, peak demand management and distributed generation to many government and corporate clients in Australia and overseas.
